More Counties Added To Snow Emergency List
< < Back to more-counties-added-snow-emergency-listCounties in Southeast Ohio have declared level one snow emergencies and one is at level two as heavy snow hit the region.
Athens, Hocking, Coshocton, Perry, Muskingum and Ross Counties were all at a level one snow emergency while the Vinton County Sheriff has declared a level two emergency urging motorists to remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
Roads remain snow covered with secondary roads especially slick.
Up to five inches of snow is expected to accumulate in parts of Southeast Ohio Saturday as a winter storm warning continues though early afternoon.
Parts of the region received as much as four inches of accumulation before 5:00 AM.
The National Weather Service has called for an end of the snow in our region by 1:00 PM.
The high temperature is not expected to rise much above freezing Saturday and will drop throughout the next few days.
ODOT has been treating highways but a spokesperson Saturday morning said treating the roads is being made difficult with the continued snowfall.
