On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, host Ron Luce talks with local stargazer and historian Tom O’Grady.

Some listeners may recognize O’Grady as a regular voice on Conversations from Studio B as a member of the Southeast Ohio Astronomical Society.

O’Grady and Luce discuss the architect of the “Athens Lunatic Asylum”, Levi Tucker Scofield.

Scofield led an interesting life; he enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War, designed a number of historical “reformatory” and “corrections” facilities throughout Ohio, and designed the “Cuyahoga County Soldiers and Sailors Monument” in Cleveland which can be seen on Ontario St. to this day.
