Two men accused of damaging Christmas decorations in Nelsonville will have their days in court in May.

Taylor D. Whitehill, 23, and Justin R. Huling, 24, entered pleas of not guilty to indictments charging vandalism when they both appeared in front of seperate judges in Athens County Common Pleas Court Wednesday.

According to the Athens County Prosecutor's Office, the men are charged with destroying nutcracker statues on a public street on December 14.

Whitehill and Huling were reportedly in town visiting a friend at Hocking College. According to police, they had just left a local bar and were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the vandalism.

The nutcracker decorations cost a combined $650.

Both men were released on their own recognizances.
