Pellet Guns Cause Gun Scare< < Back to
Three Muskingum County high school students are in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center after allegedly bringing pellet guns to Maysville High School.
The incident started Thursday morning when a neighbor reported seeing a group of men with guns surrounding a trailer in the 2800 block of Maysville Pike.
Five units from the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office responded and located one of the suspects' vehicles. Deputies found the other two vehicles at the high school.
A total of seven airsoft pellet guns were found inside the vehicles.
The school was not placed on lockdown.
Officials said the 17-year-olds were finishing up a game of pellet gun wars that morning and were picking up fellow student at the trailer.
No charges have been filed in the case.
