On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, WOUB’s Director and General Manager Tom Hodson talks with Ryan Ling and Paul Schneider of MTV2’s breakout hit, Guy Code.

The Creator and Executive Producer of Guy Code, Ryan Ling, initially broke into the business as a video documentarian. In 2012, Ling was nominated for an Emmy for producing MTVU’s Quiet Campus, a documentary about three deaf students and their life at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.

The Supervising Post Producer of Guy Code, Paul Schneider, is a veteran in the postproduction world – having a background in everything from animation to management. Schneider has earned a huge number of industry awards over his 20+ years in show business, and will be the supervising post producer of the upcoming Guy Code spinoff, Girl Code.

Currently in its third season, Guy Code’s season three premiere shattered network ratings becoming the highest rated and most watched original season premier in MTV2 history.

Hodson, Ling and Schneider discuss the important role social media has played in the popularity of Guy Code, the process of shooting and editing Guy Code, as well as the editor/producers role in storytelling and the creation of narrative.
