Navy Diver From Caldwell Death Rule Accidental
< < Back to navy-diver-caldwell-death-rule-accidentalThe Maryland medical examiner's office says two Navy divers who died in a test pond at Aberdeen Proving Ground in February accidentally drowned.
Spokesman Bruce Goldfarb said Monday that the agency isn't authorized to release any other autopsy information about the three divers who perished earlier this year at the Army installation about 20 miles northeast of Baltimore.
Navy Diver 1st Class James Reyher of Caldwell, Ohio, and Navy Diver 2nd Class Ryan Harris of Gladstone, Mo., died Feb. 26. They were working at an underwater weapons-testing facility called the Super Pond.
A Civilian engineering technician died Jan. 30 while doing underwater maintenance of the pond.
Military officials have closed the pond to all activities pending the outcome of several investigations.
