Brockmeier, Grilliot Named Academic All-Americans

First baseman Evan Brockmeier and outfielder Jordan Grilliot of Marietta Baseball were named Capital One Academic All-Americans. Brockmeier made the second team while Grilliot made the third team.

Brockmeier, a senior, posted a 3.8 grade point average while majoring in petroleum engineering. Grilliot, also a senior, posted a 3.78 GPA in chemistry.

The Pioneers bowed out of the NCAA Mideast Regional May 18, falling to the Manchester Spartans 8-5. The loss ended Marietta’s chances at a third consecutive national championship.
