Athens Hospital Joins OhioHealth Network

OhioHealth plans to be the parent organization of O’Bleness Health System.
Both hospitals stated their mutual agreement to access each other’s finances, records and operations on Thursday.
O’Bleness has an agreement that grants six OhioHealth employees leadership positions on the management team at O’Bleness and representation on the O’Bleness board of directors.
OhioHealth owns 17 hospitals including Riverside Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center in central Ohio.
OhioHealth revealed a similar proposal with Mansfield-based MedCentral Health system last month.
This process is expected to be completed by the summer.
