Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Police Cruiser

A man is now facing his second DUI offense after he allegedly rammed his van into a cop car.
Officers with the Huntington Police Department say Derrick Turley ran a red light and slammed into the police car at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 20th street.
It happened just before 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Investigators say both the van and the car sustained significant damage.
The officer and a passenger were taken to the hospital, but both have been released and are expected to be okay.
Turley has been charged with a 2nd offense DUI and driving on a suspended license.
