Firefighters responded to the scene of an explosion at Wolford's Landing Campground near Portsmouth around 10 p.m. Tuesday night after a propane tank reportedly detonated on the banks of the Ohio River.

While there were no injuries, The Portsmouth Daily Times is reporting that the explosion knocked residents of the campground off their feet.

The story says the blast ignited riverside driftwood and other debris.

The story quotes Lt. Jerry Cornwell of the Portsmouth Fire Department as saying the explosion may have been caused by something combustable floating down the river.
