Police Search For Person Of Interest In People’s Bank Robbery

UPDATE 7/9/13 Authorities have identified the man they are calling a person of interest in connection with the robbery of the Peoples Bank on Monday.

Police are looking for Emmanuel Arocho. Police say Arocho may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and people should use extreme caution when approaching him.

Athens Police say a man walked into the bank on East State Street Monday afternoon and handed a bank teller a note stating he was robbing the bank.

Investigators say the man is a white male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 lbs. He has brown hair and facial hair.


Athens Police are looking for a man caputured on surveillance camera footage as a person of interest in connection with robbery of the Peoples Bank on Monday.

According to police the robbery happened around 3:30 p.m. at the bank's branch on East State Street.

Police don't know if the man left the area in a vehicle or on foot.

From the image released by police the man appears to be a white male with brown hair and a beard.

The investigation is ongoing.
