Parts Of Region Under Flash Flood Watch

According to AEP's outage map, 104 customers are without electricity. Other outage numbers include:
Hocking: 292
Franklin: 234
Tuscarawas: 141
Muskingum: 109
The NWS service has issued a flash flood watch until 6 a.m. Tuesday for Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington counties.
Flooding has also closed the following roads in Athens County:
County Road 31 (Oakdale Road) in Trimble Township
County Road 44 (Bucks Lake Road) in Lee and Carthage Townships
County Road 58 (Frost Road in Troy Township) from Township road 574 to State Route 50
County Road 53 (Lottridge Road in Carthage Township) from State Route 32 to the county line

UPDATE 3:13 p.m. The National Weather Service says thunderstorms will bring heavy rain to portions of the region Monday afternoon.
The NWS service has issued a flash flood watch until 6 a.m. Tuesday for Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington counties.
According to a special weather statement from the NWS the storms will cause water to pond on roads and quickly fill roadside ditches and small streams.

UPDATE 1:29 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Scioto County. The advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Monday.
The NWS has also issued a statement saying heavy rainfall will affect Boyd, Vinton, Gallia, Greenup, Jackson and Lawrence counties in the region.
Franklin County and the Columbus area are also suffering from some flooding.
A Flood Warning has been issued there until 4:30 p.m.
Anyone traveling that direction may have some roadway flooding issues.
Much of the region is reported to be under a Flash Flood Watch until late Monday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for much of Southeast Ohio, including Athens, Jackson, Morgan, Meigs, Perry, Vinton and Washington counties.

Parts of West Virginia are under watch, as well. These counties include Putnam, Cabell, Jackson, Logan and more.

Rainfall of 1.5 to 2 inches in less than three hours could cause small stream flooding.
The NWS expects the heaviest rainfall to occur this afternoon and tonight.
