Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood says the Middleport Police were investigating a tip about drug activity in the Leading Creek area around 7:30 p.m. when police say they found a truck with a meth lab inside.
John Ward, 48, and a woman were taken into custody.
The Sheriff says Ward then ran off and jumped into Leading Creek.
His body was found three hours later.
Ward's body has been sent to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.
