Circleville Man Gets 18 Months For Stealing From The Elderly
< < Back to circleville-man-gets-18-months-stealing-elderlyA man who has stolen repeatedly from the elderly in Athens Co. will be facing jail time according to Athens County Common Pleas Judge George P. McCarthy.
Richard E. Clements, 33 of Circleville, pleaded guilty in Athens County Common Pleas Court Tuesday to two counts of theft-from-an-elderly person and one count of theft. Judge McCarthy also found that Clements had violated his probation from a previous January 2012 conviction of a similar nature.
Judge McCarthy imposed Clements original 18 month sentence to Ohio’s prison system. After his release, Clements will face five additional years of probation.
The most current charges were the result of Clements taking a wallet containing a credit-card from one elderly individual on April 26 and an envelope containing money from another elderly person on May 7, according to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.
The original arrest for the 2013 charges was made by the Albany Police Chief Robert Deardorff and Athens Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Tomsha.
