Plant-Based Author, Chef To Host Demonstration In Athens
< < Back toLive Healthy Appalachia will host Herbivore in the Hills, featuring popular plant-based author and chef Lindsay S. Nixon, Saturday, September 7 at the Athens Community Center from 5 to 8 p.m.
Nixon has authored several plant-based cookbooks including “The Happy Herbivore” and Happy Herbivore Aboard.”
Herbivore in the Hills will feature a food demonstration led by Nixon, showing the audience how to cook seven of her delicious plant-based recipes, as well as food samples, a raffle and a book signing. Advance tickets for this event are $30 and are available at www.livehealthyappalachia.org or by calling (740) 856-6100.
Nixon is known for easy and low-cost recipes that have influenced thousands of people into adopting healthier cooking habits.
"Nothing is more discouraging than a cookbook with long complex recipes and uncommon ingredients – you won't find that here!” said Nixon.
On Sunday, September 8, Herbivore in the Hills will continue with a lecture from Nixon on “Living Plant-Based in a Non Plant-Based World” followed by a Q&A session at the Athens Community Center from noon to 2 p.m.
This event will give people the opportunity to learn more about making healthier food choices as well as explaining how easy and beneficial plant-based cooking can be! Admission to this event is $5 at the door (cash only) and the attendance limit is 150, so early arrival is suggested.
