Crash In Athens County Injures Two People
< < Back to crash-athens-county-injures-two-peopleThe Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on U.S. Route 50 in Athens County that resulted two women being flown to area hospitals.
Troopers say the accident occurred at approximately 7:32 p.m. Saturday at the Coolville intersection of U.S. Route 50.
The accident report states that Blair Rexrode, 20, of Coolville, failed to yield when turning his jeep left and hit Nancy Scarbrough, 61, of Racine. Upon impact, Scarbrough's van veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Rexrode's vehicle also overturned before finally coming to a rest.
Rexroad was flown to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Scarbrough was flown to Charleston General Hospital in West Virginia.
It is unknown if either driver was wearing a seatbelt.
The investigation remains open.
