No Timeline On Steubenville Grand Jury Decision
< < Back toOhio Attorney General Mike DeWine says he cannot offer a timeline for when a grand jury will finish considering whether other crimes might have occurred in the rape of a 16 year old West Virginia girl last year.
In March, a judge convicted two Steubenville High School football players of raping the girl after an alcohol fueled party.
A grand jury that last met in mid-August is waiting on outside forensic work before resuming its investigation into the case. One of the key issues before the grand jury i wheteher adults who are required to report crimes knew early on of the rape but did not say anything.
DeWine says he is sorry the process is taking so long but remains committed to finding the truth and making sure it is definitive.
