Ohio University’s Kennedy Museum of Art will feature the exhibit A Space in Time: Works by Donald Roberts Sept. 20, 2013 through Jan. 5, 2014.

This exhibition features two bodies of work by artist and Ohio University emeritus professor of art Donald Roberts.

One section showcases selected paintings, drawings and sculpture representing an earlier period when the artist explored perspective and hardedge geometric forms.

A larger selection highlights more recent paintings and drawings, with organic form, color and ambiguous space being pushed and pulled to experimental and expressive limits.

Roberts’ works reveals his strong relationship with nature and admiration for artists including, but not limited to, Wassily Kandinsky (Russian, 1866– 1944), Arshile Gorky (American, 1904–1948) and Michael Singer (American, 1942–present).

A “Curator Walk and Talk” with Kennedy Museum Director Edward E. Pauley will take Friday, Sept. 20 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with an exhibition reception to follow from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Kennedy Museum of Art is located in the historic Lin Hall at The Ridges on the Ohio University campus. Admission is free. For gallery hours and more information, visit www.ohio.edu/museum.
