Accurso, Genther Sweep MAC Runner Of The Week Awards

Ohio’s Juli Accurso and Jarrod Genther were named this week’s MAC Cross-Country Runners of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

This is Accurso’s second honor this week, as she was also named MAC Women’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Accurso last raced Friday, Sept. 20, at the Wake Forest Invitational. She finished third in a field of 68 runners with the time of 21:05.00

Genther was the top finisher for the Bobcats for the second time this season as he finished 11^th overall in the 8-kilometer race with a time of 25:27.83.

Ohio will split its teams for two separate meets. The ‘Cats will send some of their runners to the All-Ohio Championship in Cedarville, Ohio, Saturday, while the rest will compete in a meet at Notre Dame the same day. The women’s races start at 2 p.m. and the men’s at 2:45 p.m. for both meets.
