An SEOAL showdown is about to take place at Warren High School Friday night, as the Warriors take on the Jackson Ironmen. Both Warren (2-3) and Jackson (2-3) come into league play sitting tied for second in the SEOAL, exactly where they were this time last season.

In 2012, week 6 was a turning point for the Ironmen.

Much like this season, Jackson went into last year’s matchup with Warren on a three-game losing streak. But a 36-26 win over the Warriors started a three-game win streak and put the Ironmen in position to contend for a league title.

On the other sideline, Warren rode the momentum from a big week 5 win over Meigs into its 2012 matchup with Jackson. This season, it’s a different story. A week ago, the Warriors fell at home to the Marauders, 43-18.

Both Warren and Jackson have proven they can score some points.

Warren, in a comeback win against Parkersburg South, put up 47 points – 41 of those 47 came in the second half.  And In a week 2 shutout of Waverly, the Ironmen offense scored 68.

Warren and Jackson are two teams looking to dethrone Gallia Academy for an SEOAL championship. With both squads coming in at 2-3, Saturday’s conference opener will be an important game for each team’s league title hopes.
