The Rio Grande RedStorm (8-12, 2-9) defeated the Lourdes Wolves on the road in four sets, 25-22, 29-27, 24-26, 25-21.

The RedStorm seemed to be cruising in the first game when they held a 16-10 lead in the middle of the set, but the Wolves slowly chipped away at the deficit. They took eight of the next 12 points to cut the lead to two. However, Rio Grande would finish strong and take the game.

The second affair of the evening was a tightly-contested battle. The teams were tied at 11-11 midway through the set. The Wolves were up three match points late in the set. The RedStorm, however, were up to the task, taking the next three points to tie the game and force extra points. The two teams went back and forth until the RedStorm took the final three points to win the game 29-27.

Much like the previous frame, the score was the tied at 11 all. Except this time the RedStorm surged to a 19-14 lead. Rio Grande came up short the rest of the set. It blew its lead as the Wolves tied it up at 22-22. Lourdes proceeded to finish the set by taking four of the next six points to win its only set of the match.

The fourth game was the closet game of the match. It saw the two combatants trade off the first 42 points of the set. But the RedStorm finished on a five-point run to take the match.

Alex Phillips and Autumn Snider lead the RedStorm offense with 17 and 16 kills, respectively. Kayla Briley added a game-high 52 assists and Nicole Ogg added 15 digs on defense.

The RedStorm will look to defeat the Wolves again as the play at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Sylvania, Ohio.
