MAC Announces Tie-In With Miami Beach Bowl
< < Back toThe Mid-American Conference announced a tie-in with the Miami Beach Bowl for the 2016 and 2018 seasons on Thursday, a bowl set to be played in Marlins Park in Miami, Fla.
The Miami Beach Bowl is the third of new bowl announcements and the centerpiece of a joint agreement between several FBS conferences. Along with the Miami Beach Bowl, the Boca Raton Bowl and Bahamas Bowl will be supported by several FBS conferences on a six-year rotating basis.
The MAC will face the American Athletic Conference in the Miami Beach Bowl in 2016 and 2018. With the additions of the Miami Beach Bowl, Boca Raton Bowl and Bahamas Bowl, the MAC has created two new appearances for MAC teams annually for the next six years.
“The Mid-American Conference is proud to have a tie-in with the Miami Beach Bowl as part of this collaborative effort among FBS conferences,” said Dr. Jon Steinbrecher, the MAC Commissioner. “We are excited for our student-athletes, fans and alumni to have the opportunity to come to South Florida as a bowl destination during the holidays for the 2016 and 2018 bowl seasons.”
Along with the three newly announced bowls, the MAC also holds ties with the GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile, Ala., the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho, and the Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Ala.
