Yazdani Named Special Teams Player Of The Week
< < Back toOhio University football redshirt sophomore kicker Josiah Yazdani received the Mid-American East Division Special Teams Kicker of the Week award from the league office for Week 14.
This was the second time the Albany native received the award as he assisted the Bobcats in their rout of Massachusetts 51-35 in the Bobcats regular season finale at Peden Stadium.
After winning his first MAC Player of the Week honors on Oct. 28, Yazdini followed it up with another excellent performance going 3-for-3 in field goals against the Minutemen and recording scores from 30, 24 and 25 yards out to help Ohio recover from a disappointing loss to conference rival Kent State 44-13.
Yazdani is perfect in both field goals and extra points this season including the five extra points he kicked against the Minutemen. He also had 10 kickoffs for 607 yards, averaging 60.7 yards.
The Bobcats now sit and wait until Dec. 9 to see if they will earn a bowl bid.
