Two Arrested in Albany for Heroin with Children Present
< < Back to two-arrested-albany-heroin-children-presentOn Thursday, Athens County Sheriff’s deputies as part of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested two people at a Lee St. address in Albany, Oh and seized over 11 grams of heroin, syringes, and scales, according to Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly.
Detectives Jim Heater and Doug Crites arrested Justin Hutchinson, 26, of Albany and Melissa K. Schoon also of Albany.
They were taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. Two children were present at the residence at the time of the raid and they were taken into the custody of Athens County Children’s Services.
Initially, Hutchinson and Schoon have been charged with trafficking in heroin with children present.
The charges are first degree felonies.
Other charges of child endangering and trafficking in drugs also are being considered.
