Ohio University Employee Participating In Competition To Win New Accessible Vehicle

Noah Trembly is a very active member of the community of Athens, Ohio and Ohio University. He is 36 years old and lives with severe cerebral palsy. He has served as a higher education consultant at OU for 2 years. Noah recently won the 18th Annual Edwin and Esther Prentke Distinguished Lecture award and has been invited to Orlando, Florida where he will deliver his presentation.
Noah serves on several Ohio University committees such as the Presidential Advisory Council for Disability and Accessibility Planning (PACDAP) and PACDAP’s 
Universal Design and Assistive Technology Change Team. In addition to his consulting and committee work, Noah has begun earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Specialized Studies. Outside academia, Noah serves on the Athens City Commission on Disabilities where he is highly involved decision making as it relates to the Athens Community. He also does a variety of advocacy work in the field of AAC.
Noah’s current form of transportation is a 1999 Ford van that has nearly gone beyond repair. This past winter, Noah experienced extreme automobile difficulty. There were many, many days Noah was left out in the cold for hours at a time when the vehicle would not start. When the vehicle did start, Noah and his attendant often drove in fear due to a faulty brake system. Noah is desperately in need of reliable, safe transportation to continue his education and professional career.
