Update: 80-Year-Old Athens Resident Killed In Ridges Car Crash

Update 2:15 p.m. Ohio University Police has released the identity of the person killed in the single-car crash. Ying A. Chang, an 80-year-old from Athens, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Chang was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.
The Ohio University Police Department is investigating "a fatality related to a one car accident" that occurred Sunday at The Ridges, according to police reports.
Police announced that there had been a fatality at about 2 p.m. via the OUPD Facebook and Twitter accounts, but have not released any other information.
"It's under investigation and in a very preliminary stage at this time," said Police Chief Andrew Powers in an email to The Athens Messenger. "We should know more in a day or two, after the autopsy."
Emergency personnel reportedly responded to the area of Water Tower Drive for an unresponsive subject in a vehicle, according to dispatchers.
