Charges have been dropped against two Steubenville school employees as part of an investigation into whether other laws were broken in the rape of a 16-year-old West Virginia girl by two Steubenville football players.

Seth Fluharty, a strength and wrestling coach and elementary school teacher, had been accused of failing to report the August 2012 rape, while Lynnett Gorman, an elementary principal, was accused of failing to report a teen sex and drinking party in April 2012 unrelated to the rape.

The Ohio Attorney General's Office confirmed Wednesday that misdemeanor charges of failure to report child abuse or neglect were dropped June 20 after Gorman and Fluharty met conditions of a deal requiring them to volunteer at a rape crisis center and help develop a sexual assault awareness program.
