Back on campus to attend the annual convocation of Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ronald C. Moomaw talks with Tom Hodson about his work as a NASA flight surgeon and psychiatrist at Johnson Space Center in Houston. Dr. Moomaw works with International Space Station astronauts, crew members, and their families, providing behavioral health support. He is also the principal investigator for Sleep/Wake Measures in Space Analog Environments. His overall work involves stress resilience training for astronauts before, during, and after space flights, the brain and it's adaptation to zero-gravity, and effects of communication delays in long-distance space travel.
