As the annual Party in the Park festival enters its sixth year, there will be some noticeable changes to the three-day event along the Ohio River.

Party in the Park is held the second weekend of September each year at Racine's Star Mill Park. This year's event will begin on Thursday, Sept. 11 and run through Saturday, Sept. 13.

Alcohol will be served for the first time at the festival, but with strict restrictions. Alcohol will be served in only a specified "beer garden" area and will not be permitted in other areas of the park.

According to festival organizers, law enforcement presence will be increased and those found with alcohol outside the area will be arrested and fined.

The festival will feature three nights of entertainment, with headliners Frankie Ballard and Lindsay Ell wrapping up the event on Saturday night.

Thursday night's entertainment will be local bands Ben Davis, Jr. and the Dirt Poor Troubadours and Blitzkrieg. On Friday evening will be The Wayfarers and Dylan Scott.

Other returning favorites include, The Cruisin' Saturday Night Car Show, kiddie tractor pull, carnival rides and games, along with several local vendors.

The 5K run/walk will take place on Friday evening with registration at 5 p.m.

Admission to Party in the Park is free, along with all of the concerts.
