Editor's Note: On Aug. 29, the Parkersburg Big Reds defeated the Warren Warriors 41-22 on the road. But the win had a bigger meaning to the Big Reds than just starting the season off 1-0, as it marked the 800th win in program history. In doing so, the Big Reds became just the eighth team in the entire United States to reach that milestone, as well as the first team in the state of West Virginia. So we dove into the history books to take a closer look at the Big Reds' achievement.

8: Parkersburg became just the eighth school in the United States to reach the 800 win plateau. The other seven schools are listed below:

11: The Big Reds have completed 11 undefeated seasons, the last being in 2006 when they went 14-0 and won the first of back-to-back state titles.

16: The number of West Virginia State Championships for the Big Reds, the most recent coming in 2007.

34: The number of playoff appearances for Parkersburg in their 114-year history, including a stretch from 1973-1985 where the Big Reds made the playoffs in 11 of the 13 seasons under head coach Buddy James.

172: The number of Parkersburg players named to the first-team All-State team since 1916.
