For a conference that was on the brink of disassembling before the 2014 season began, the SEOAL has provided plenty of excitement through the first three games. The Jackson Ironmen sit atop the standings with a perfect 3-0 record after shutting out its last two opponents.

For now, all five teams have two more non-conference games before SEOAL matchups begin on Oct. 3rd.

1. Jackson Ironmen (3-0)

It’s been pretty tough to score on the Ironmen defense this season.  Senior linebacker Reagan Williams leads the defense as they shutout Waverly and West Jefferson in Week 2 and Week 3. The offense has been pretty good, too, averaging 33 points per game.

2. Logan Chieftains (1-2)

Quarterback Lane Little has seamlessly led the Logan offense in 2014 after missing all of the 2013 season due to injury.  The Chieftain defense has struggled to find consistency, giving up more than 40 points in each of the losses.

3. Gallia Academy Blue Devils (2-1)

The Blue Devils have shown quite the turn around since the Week 1 blowout loss to Athens.  The Leadership from the stellar quarterback Kole Carter will keep Gallia in the SEOAL battle.

4. Warren Warriors (1-2)

First-year head coach Anthony Fish’s goal for a team driven by defense is falling short heading into Week 4.  So far the Warrior D has given up an average of 39 points per game.

5. Portsmouth Trojans (0-3)

Portsmouth faces a big obstacle this season, losing quarterback Sky Oliver to knee injury.  The Trojans still remain winless in 2014 and will have to make some adjustments in order to compete in their last season in the SEOAL.
