Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is exploring whether Ohio needs to change how it trains police in the use of force.

DeWine wants the state's Peace Officer Training Commission to review officer training on use-of-force situations and community relations.

The commission has planned a special meeting Thursday at the police training center in London, west of Columbus.

DeWine announced the meeting last week after demonstrations around the country over racial justice and police use of force.

Gov. John Kasich also says a new task force will seek to improve police and community relations.

Several recent killings of black men or boys by police officers across the nation and grand juries' decisions not to indict some of the officers have prompted protests.
