Pizza Powerhouse To Be Keynote Speaker at College of Business Symposium

John Schnatter, founder and CEO of Papa John’s Pizza, will serve as keynote speaker during the first annual College of Business Marketing Symposium at Ohio University, Thurs., March 26.

The symposium, held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Walter Hall Rotunda, affords students opportunities to enhance their marketing insight and to network with companies such as Microsoft, Simonton, AT&T, NR Media Group, Alliance Data, JP Morgan Chase and more, according to a news release by Ohio University’s College of Business.

The first Papa John’s restaurant opened in 1985 and in the last 30 years, the chain has grown to over 4,600 restaurants worldwide. Schnatter’s numerous business achievements and philanthropic efforts culminated in his induction into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 2007. He was also named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans in 2000 by the National Jaycees Organization and the 1998 National Ernst & Young Retail/Consumer Entrepreneur of The Year.

Breakout session topics will include personal branding and marketing by Jeff Cogan, director of Talent Solutions Enterprise Relationship Management at LinkedIn; content marketing and social media by Nate Riggs, founder and president for NR Media; and a consumer research panel session with Barbara Zack, product innovation, NPD Group, Caitlin Drozin, Consumer and Market Insights at J M Smucker’s company, and College of Business marketing professor Dan Dahlen, writer of Wendy’s “Where’s the Beef?” and Subway’s “Jared” strategies.
