Ohio Volleyball Releases 2015 Fall Schedule< < Back to
The Ohio Bobcats women’s volleyball team officially announced their fall 2015 schedule Monday afternoon. The ‘Cats are returning nine players from the 2014 season, as the team looks to capture its 11 Mid-American Conference title in the last 12 years.
In their first tournament, the Mortar Board Premier, the Bobcats will face out-of-conference teams such as Austin Peay, VCU and Purdue. Later, Ohio will host the Bobcat Invitational in Athens during the first weekend of September. The ‘Cats are seeking tough out-of-conference match-ups at home against LSU, Xavier and Michigan, who are all ranked in the NCAA’s RPI Top 60. Other strong out of conference competition includes the Kentucky Wildcats, Seton Hall and Utah.
The Bobcats will revisit the Dayton Flyers, whom the bobcats lost to at the end of the 2014 campaign, 3-2. The ‘Cats will also face the defending MAC champions in Western Michigan, whom the Bobcats lost to in the semifinals of the MAC Championships last season. Ohio will also take on MAC East foes Buffalo and Miami twice as the ‘Cats look to potentially match last years perfect season in conference play. Conference play begins September 25th against Bowling Green.
Ohio volleyball finished the 2014 season with a 23-6 overall record going 16-0 in conference play. The team will be looking to exceed last year’s early fall out in the MAC Championship.
