A slight increase in male population has moved Morgan High School in a new division.

Earlier this month, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced new football divisions, playoff regions, and schedules for the 714 schools that will compete this fall. Morgan’s updated enrollment of 275 male students puts it in company with 106 other Ohio schools in Division III. The criterion to compete in Division III is an enrollment of 271-422 male students.

OHSAA football divisions are based on school enrollment data provided by the Ohio Department of Education of males in grades 9, 10 and 11 as of October 2014.

The Raiders competed in Division IV- Region 13 last season, but will now join the likes of MVL powerhouses, Tri-Valley and Sheridan in Division III – Region 9.

Morgan finished the 2014 season 0-10 and 0-7 in the MVL.

Morgan will kick off the 2015 season on August 28 at Marietta High School.
