Kelee Riesbeck interviews Eric Masson, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at OHIO and the department’s Roenigk Chair in Chemistry. Masson unpacks his work in supramolecular and bioorganic chemistry by using everyday objects—pumpkins and mimic octopus, anyone?—to explain his work. As the Roenigk Chair, Masson will work to raise the profile of the department, promote great research and teaching and recruit the best and brightest students to OHIO. The chair position was established by The Roenigk Family Foundation and Henry (BA Chemistry, ’56) and Kathleen Roenigk.

Check out this video of how a mimic octopus morphs it’s shape to protect itself!
