Jordan Leasure was spectacular once again, but Fairfield Union’s defense stepped up when it needed to.

The Amanda-Clearcreek (1-5, 0-3) back finished with 202 rushing yards, but Fairfield Union (3-3, 1-2) came away with the 13-6 win.

Amanda-Cleacreek’s offense had been in a slump prior to Friday’s game, but the Aces were unable to generate much of anything on Friday. The poor weather forced Amanda-Clearcreek to be one-dimensional. With the exception of Will Young’s 53-yard touchdown towards the end of the third, Fairfield Union’s defense bended, but did not break.

Offense has not been Fairfield Union’s forte this season, but double-digits for the second consecutive game and 277 total yards on the ground got the job done in what turned out to be a muddy, ground-and-pound kind of game.

Amanda-Clearcreek will seek conference win No. 1 against Bloom-Carroll while Fairfield Union will try to keep the good vibes going against Hamilton Township.
