Two teams in the SEOAL still remain winless in the 2015 season, and they are going head to head this Friday night.

The Gallia Academy Blue Devils (0-7, 0-0) and the Warren Warriors (0-7, 0-1) have the same goal going into this game: to get their first win of the season.

Warren is coming off of its finest defensive performance of the season, letting up only 21 to Union Local, but its defense has been a liability all season. The Warriors have held opponents under 40 points just twice.

With that in mind, Gallia Academy Josh Riffe wanted his team to focus on offensive execution to slice through Warren’s defense.

“Basically going back and emphasizing the basics for us,” Riffe said. “Making sure we do things the right way…play smart football.”

Statistically, the Blue Devils have the upper hand, averaging 12.1 points per contest to Warren’s 2.9 per contest. With a solid performance from Gallia Academy’s defense, along with home field advantage, the Blue Devils have the opportunity to shut out the Warriors just as many other teams have this season.

The Warriors and the Blue Devils kickoff at 7:00 pm on Friday in Gallipolis.
