Athens Battling to Keep Title Hopes Alive

In one of the most competitive seasons TVC-Ohio history, there are three teams vying for the title and Friday’s matchup between Athens and River Valley has huge implications for both the conference crown and playoff picture.
The Bulldogs will come into the match-up against the Raiders the winners of four straight, largely thanks to running back Zacciah Saltzman. The wide receiver-turned running back has shredded almost every defense he has faced, pilling up over 1,800 yards and 34 touchdowns to this point.
However, Saltzman alone cannot secure a conference crown. Not only will the Bulldogs need to win out, but they will also need Meigs to top Alexander in week 10 to clinch a share of the title.
As for the Raiders, a conference title is out of the reach, mathematically, but the playoffs are another story. The Raiders currently occupy the eighth and final playoff spot in D-V, region 17, meaning the Raiders will need two consecutive wins to hold onto that spot.
