If hockey games were won with shots on goal, Ohio would have beaten Robert Morris 38-21.  However, the Bobcats couldn’t get a shot in the net and fell to the Eagles 2-0 on Friday night.

Ohio had many opportunities to score, but sloppy turnovers and too many pucks hitting off sticks cost the ‘Cats a chance to extend a seven-game winning streak.

“We weren’t what I call ‘stiff,’” Ohio head coach Sean Hogan said about the Bobcats’ play. “I just feel like we weren’t hard on the puck.  Pucks would just bounce off our sticks and that’s just not playing the puck.  It’s just all the little things.”

Ohio’s defensive play was fine despite the score.  Both Robert Morris goals came off of Ohio turnovers.

Robert Morris’s Ryan Martin scored with a shot off the top crossbar with 13 minutes left in the first period.  Defenses held for both teams until the Eagles’ Gavin Burbach scored in the second period.

For the Eagles, goalie Justin Ball was the top dog, shutting out Ohio by stopping all 38 shots he saw.

Ohio (15-3-1) will try to get another winning streak going on Saturday again against Robert Morris (12-6) at Bird Arena.
