WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) – A nonprofit health insurance company has announced it will uproot about 325 workers from the company’s current location in St. Clairsville, Ohio to Wheeling, West Virginia.

Media outlets report officials of The Health Plan made the announcement Wednesday at the Stone Center near the soon-to-be construction site of the new headquarters.

Jim Pennington, president and CEO of The Health Plan, says the company was established in West Virginia and is proud to say it is returning home. He says it has taken between six to nine months to finalize the move.

The company plans to break ground next spring on a four-story, $16 million building.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin says the state has worked hard to lower taxes and make West Virginia more attractive to employers.
