5 Ohio Pension Funds Joining Treasurer’s Online Checkbook
< < Back toCOLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio’s state treasurer says spending information from Ohio’s five public pension funds is being added to his online checkbook website.
Republican Treasurer Josh Mandel said Friday that once the listings go live on OhioCheckbook.com next year, Ohio will become the first state to provide “checkbook level expenses” of all its pension funds to the public.
He said after months of negotiations four of the five funds joined the initiative this week. The Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund volunteered in October.
The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System announced its participation Thursday, after a back-and-forth with Mandel over its participation. In its announcement, Ohio’s largest public pension fund said it has long provided extensive information to the public through its website, annual reports and quarterly investment statements.
