The Lady Marauders (8-9) struggled tonight in their matchup against the Lady Buckeyes (12-4). From the start, N-Y’s pressure overwhelmed Meigs, causing the team to total 26 turnovers on the night.

The turnovers were a key to the Lady Buckeyes scoring their most points this season in the 76-35 victory.

The Lady Marauders came out flat to start, falling behind 12-0. Meigs was unable to recover, with zero players scoring double-digits.

Jessie Addis proved to be a threat, leading N-Y with 20 points, adding three rebounds and steals.

The three steals don’t tell the whole story for Addis; she was all over the floor tipping passes and interrupting the flow of the Lady Marauder’s offense. The Lady Buckeye’s finished with 19 steals as a team.

Camrin Dupler complemented, finishing  with 14 points, two rebounds, and five steals. Dupler was on fire from beyond the arc, hitting four 3-pointers in the game and her first miss from deep didn’t come until the third quarter.

The Lady Buckeyes led 61-22 at the end of the third quarter, which allowed many of their starters, including Addis and Dupler, to let up.

Madison Field led Meigs in scoring, ending with nine points on the night.

Meigs looks to rebound against a tough Vinton County team on Jan. 25. N-Y faces Olentangy on the road on Jan. 23.
