Griffin Lutz has been nominated as the potential Ohio National Guard JJ Huddle Player of the Week for his performance in last week’s game against New Lexington.

Lutz recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists; he also notched four blocks during the game. It allowed the Bulldogs to dominate the Panthers in a 67-42 victory, their fourth straight.

These type of performances are nothing new to the Bulldogs’ star point guard, who came close to a triple-double in the Bulldogs’ previous game. Lutz scored 25 points while adding nine rebounds and seven assists in Athens 71-47 victory over Nelsonville-York a week earlier.

Trimble guard, Justice Jenkins, received honorable mention from JJ Huddle. Jenkins nabbed 31 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in the Tomcats game against Wahama. The efforts weren’t enough though, with the Tomcats losing in overtime 82-81.

The Wellston Golden Rockets join Lutz as a JJ Huddle nominee; the Golden Rockets were nominated for Ohio Team of the Week after winning their first TVC-Ohio game in three years.

Wellston entered their game against Nelsonville-York riding a 27-game losing streak against TVC-Ohio foes, but that streak was snapped with a 64-46 victory. The Golden Rockets, now 8-4 on the season, have only suffered losses at the hands of TVC-Ohio opponents this season, with a 1-4 conference record.

Voting ends next Monday, February 1st. You can vote here http://www.jjhuddle.com/2016/01/26/jjhuddles-ohio-boys-basketball-honor-roll-national-guard-ohio-hs-athlete-team-of-the-week-finalistsvote-now-6/.
