Demolition Changes View in Ironton

The view on South Sixth Street in Ironton has changed with the demolition of the one-time office of the now defunct Ironton Steel.
According to the Ironton Tribune, the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation purchased the property in 2014 from J&S Land Corporation for $250,000.
The condition of the office, which was once a residential house, reportedly made it impractical to restore.
There are no immediate plans for the remainder of the 40,000-square-foot factory.
LEDC is looking for a buyer interested in fixing the property up.
