MAC Releases 2016 Football Schedule
< < Back toAt 2:00 p.m. Monday, the Mid-American Conference released the 2016 Football schedule via Twitter.
Ohio will begin its season on Saturday, Sep. 3 when Texas State comes to Peden for the Bobcats home opener.
The following week, Ohio goes on the road for a two game road trip against tougher out-of-conference opponents in Kansas and Tennessee respectively.
The ‘Cats return to Athens and host Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Sep. 24.
One week later, the next episode of the Battle of the Bricks will commence in Oxford, as Miami will look to avenge its 34-3 loss a season ago.
Conference play will start to heat up for Ohio with back-to-back home games against Bowling Green then Eastern Michigan, followed by a road game at Kent State.
MACtion heats up on Thursday Oct. 27 when Ohio plays Toledo on the CBS Sports Network. The ‘Cats also play on CBS Sports Network when Buffalo visits for the conference’s lone game on Nov. 3.
Ohio will then get a 12-day break before a tough matchup against Central Michigan on the road Nov. 15 on ESPN2/ESPNU.
Rounding out the year for Ohio will be a home game Nov. 22 against Akron, which will also be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
The Mid-American Conference will kick off play Thursday, Sep. 1 when Central Michigan hosts Presbyterian.
