Sen. Sherrod Brown planned to be at the center Monday afternoon to meet with officials and workers. The Department of Veterans Affairs announced last week that Glenn Costie of the Dayton VA Medical Center would become acting director of the Cincinnati center.
Brown applauded that news. The department in February ousted the head of its Ohio-based regional network headquartered in Cincinnati and disciplined the then-acting chief of staff of the Cincinnati hospital for management issues Brown called “unacceptable.”
The Cincinnati hospital delivers medical care to more than 43,000 veterans annually from southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and Indiana.
