Police ID Bones Found in Vacant Ohio Lot as Missing Man
< < Back toYOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in northeast Ohio have identified human bones found last month as those of a missing man.
The Mahoning County coroner’s office say 18-year-old Jabreal Collins had been listed as missing since 2013.
The Youngstown Vindicator reports a man walking through a vacant lot on April 8 found a skull and brought it to police. Further remains were found when police returned.
With the skeletal remains were a set of headphones and a letterman’s style jacket. The jacket contained multiple bullet holes. One bullet that had not penetrated the inner layer remained in the coat.
Authorities said Collins’ mother is from Columbus and his father is an inmate at the Trumbull Correctional Institution.
The teen had been a resident of Safehouse Ministries.
