Celebrate New Concord, the summer entertainment series now in its 16th season, will host The Wayfarers on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. in Village Park in downtown New Concord.

The Wayfarers are an old-time, Americana and roots band based in Zanesville. They integrate a variety of old-time, pre-bluegrass and fiddle tunes into every performance, fused with a down-home feel and the high energy that characterized early mountain music.

The band’s members are: Brandon Bankes, mandolin and vocals; Josh Hartman, acoustic guitar and vocals; Matt Opachick, fiddle and vocals; Justin Rayner, clawhammer banjo and vocals; and Nathan Zangmeister, washtub bass and vocals.

This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved into the firehouse at the park. Food service will be provided by the National Trail Ruritans, with proceeds benefitting the New Concord Food Pantry.

Celebrate New Concord is sponsored by the Village of New Concord and is made possible through the support of the members of the Celebrate New Concord Patronage Program. The patronage program allows businesses, organizations and individuals to give their financial support the series. Enrollment forms are available at New Concord Village Hall during regular business hours or at any CNC performance.
