Uptown for the Holidays Gingerbread Competition Open for Entries

The fourth annual Uptown for the Holidays Gingerbread House Display and Competition is now open for entries online at www.athensgingerbread.com.

New this year is an additional grand prize of $250 for the best gingerbread replica of 24 W. State Street, new home for the Southeast Ohio History Center, formerly the Athens County Historical Society and Museum.

Prize money has increased to a total of $2,450 in nine different categories. Two grand prizes of $500 each and one grand prize of $250 will be awarded in addition to six first prizes of $200 awarded in other categories.

The entry deadline is Nov. 1 with entries to be delivered and judged on Dec. 1 at the Southeast Ohio History Center, 24 W. State Street, Athens.

Entries will be on display at the Southeast Ohio History Center, 24 W. State Street and in some uptown windows from Dec. 2-30.
